Location: Waterloo, ON (Onsite, 5 days/week)

About CSMC

The Canadian Strategic Missions Corporation (CSMC) is building Canadas next generation of advanced energy and aerospace technologies, including nuclear microreactors, quantum sensing systems, and deeptech hardware for nationalscale missions.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will lead complex, multidisciplinary engineering programs from concept through execution. You will drive schedules, budgets, risk management, supplier coordination, and crossfunctional alignment for highconsequence hardware development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of multiphase engineering programs
  • Own schedules, budgets, risk registers, and stakeholder communication
  • Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners
  • Drive milestone readiness, technical reviews, and program reporting
  • Identify program risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Support NGEN and internal program governance requirements

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project/program management in engineering or technology
  • Experience with complex hardware development (nuclear, aerospace, defence, or similar)
  • Strong risk management, scheduling, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to lead crossfunctional teams in fastmoving environments

Preferred Skills

  • Nuclear Industry Experience
  • PMP or equivalent
  • Experience with regulated or safetycritical systems
  • Familiarity with earned value, phasegate, or systems engineering frameworks

To be eligible for employment at CSMC, candidates must be able to meetALL ofthe following criteria:

Current Legal Authorization to Work in Canada

  • Currently legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Able tomaintainvalid work authorization for the duration of employment

Government of Canada Security Screening

  • Able to obtain andmaintainReliability Status or higher
  • Able to provide at least 5 years of continuous, verifiable background history
  • Willing to undergo identity, employment, education, and criminal background checks

Foreign Influence & Foreign Affiliation Risk Assessment (FIRA)

CSMC works with controlled nuclear anddefencetechnologies, and candidates must be eligible to undergo a Foreign Influence and Foreign Affiliation Risk Assessment, which may include review of:

  • Foreign citizenship(s)
  • Recent foreign residence
  • Immediate family ties abroad
  • Foreign financial, business, or government affiliations

Controlled Goods & ExportControl Eligibility

  • Eligible to access Controlled Goods under the Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
  • Eligible to access exportcontrolled technical data under Canadian law
  • Willing to undergoadditionalscreening ifrequired

OnSite Requirement

  • Able to work onsite asrequiredfor access to secure and controlled workspaces.
