About the Opportunity Join a privately held group of companies with a strong, established presence across HVAC product distribution, real estate, and importing. Our core distribution company generates $35M+ in annual revenue, and you'll support the full accounting function across all entities making this a uniquely broad and hands-on role for someone looking to grow. About the Companies You'll be supporting accounting across a family of related businesses: * HVAC Distributor - distribution of HVAC products to wholesalers (Prophet 21 ERP)/ (AccountEdge) * Property Holding Companies - Ongoing construction and rental revenue (AccountEdge) The Role This is a hands-on, in-office position focused on the day-to-day accounting activities, which will lead to broader responsibilities over time. Core Responsibilities * Process A/P invoices and ensure timely payments, capturing purchase discounts with major U.S. fund suppliers * Monitor and reconcile 13+ bank accounts daily; communicate daily EFT receipts * Post and track tenant rents at month-start; record loans throughout the month * Manage U.S. foreign exchange purchases * Perform monthly bank reconciliations * Prepare and file tax provision payments, WSIB reporting, and HST returns (monthly and quarterly across entities) * Run month-end inventory valuation; reconcile GL to subledger for inventory, A/R, and A/P * Maintain asset files and balance sheet account working files Growth Responsibilities * Learn Prophet 21 for accounting system troubleshooting * Take over ADP biweekly payroll, AccountEdge payroll, and monthly commission and subcontractor payments * Administer the Employee Benefits program * Support year-end reporting and account analysis preparation for the external accounting firm What We're Looking For * Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance * 1–3 years of hands-on accounting experience (AP/GL preferred) * Experience with accounting software such as AccountEdge, Prophet 21, or similar ERP * Exposure to multi-entity accounting environments an asset * Strong attention to detail; comfortable with high transaction volumes and recurring deadlines * Experience with foreign currency (U.S. funds) an asset * Self-motivated with attention to detail Why Join Us? * Rare breadth of exposure distribution, real estate, and importing all in one role * Stable, long-tenured business with a clear path to more responsibility * Learn payroll, benefits, and year-end processes to round out your skill set We thank all applicants for their interest.
