Safety / Environment
- Ensure safe work systems/procedures are always practised and adhered to ensuring duties are performed in a manner that minimises risk to self, employees, and contractors. Demonstrate safe work practices.
- Maintain exemplary standard of housekeeping at all times, safe work, incident/accident reporting & active involvement in safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
- Abide by and proactively comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems, as well as all relevant legislation.
- Understand and familiarise oneself with site Emergency evacuation procedures

Technical & Role Accountabilities
- Ensure proper procedures and policies are utilized pertaining to Heavy Equipment repairs and shop conduct.
- Trouble-shoot and perform diagnostic testing to identify problems utilizing hydraulic and electrical schematics to determine corrective measures.
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks thoroughly and completely at required intervals.
- Identify future required work through preventative maintenance processes
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
- Mentor apprentices at all stages through their apprenticeships
- Assist new employees until familiar with the equipment and surroundings
- Provide information for repairs such as proper part names, part numbers, quantities, estimated time frames
- Order and install replacement parts as required
- Properly charge out parts out of inventory when removing stock
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer and/or site specifications.
- Complete and sign off on required paperwork, ensuring thoroughness and legibility (i.e., 5-point cards, line-up, PM sheets, work order reports, etc.)
- Ensure samples required during equipment services are properly taken
- Control contamination before, during and after work has been completed, ensuring a clean work environment
- Address spills when they happen and comply with reporting protocols
- Provide information for repairs such as proper part names, part numbers, quantities, estimated time frames
- Provide input into possible equipment improvements both to save cost and maintenance downtime

- Work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals both within own department and site wide
- Leverage off and use the talent and knowledge within the team to resolve problems
- Share gained experience and knowledge of work in progress
- Attend and participate constructively in daily line-ups, safety meetings
Planning & Organisation
- Prioritise and complete tasks accurately to specifications as assigned by direct supervisor within expected timeframes.
- Proactively identifies and addresses hazards before they arise as issues.
- Be punctual to work and all required site meetings.
