POSTING: Medical Van Driver

Part-time position

Primary Purpose: The Medical Van Driver will provide non-insured medical transportation to all community members residing on Thessalon First Nation as scheduled. The Medical Van driver will be responsible for daily checks of all company vehicles, ensuring fluids, safety systems and various components of the vehicles are in safe working order. The driver will also be responsible for cleaning the vehicles regularly and after each medical drive.

RESPONSIBILITIES/Duties

• Medical Van Driver shall consult with the Medical Transportation Clerk everyday to receive the next days schedule of appointments.
• Ensure that all company vehicles are maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines and safety regulations.
• Ensure that vehicles are clean and stocked with necessary supplies for each medical drive.
• Ensuring that all permits, licenses and insurance are kept up to date and valid.
• The Medical Van Driver shall always conduct themselves in a courteous and professional manner.
• The Medical Van Driver shall always possess a valid Drivers License, obeying all rules of the road, speed limits and safety regulations. All fines, parking tickets, vehicle infractions shall be the sole responsibility of the driver. Excessive charges and/or tickets may warrant termination of employment.
• The Medical Van driver is responsible for implementing and enforcing the Medical Transportation Policy.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a valid drivers license.
• Must possess a good driving record.
• Must be in good health.
• Must have an up to date First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Must have good communication skills (verbal and written).

Salary: $18.00 - $18.72/hr
