Job Description
  • Coaching and mentoring assigned staff to foster a positive atmosphere that supports team building, collaboration and shared learning
  • Providing leadership in the MRI area and accepts clinical responsibility to provide quality patient care to meet the clients' needs through and effective and efficient use of human and capital resources
  • Functioning in accordance with the “Standards of Practice” as outlined from the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (C.M.R.T.O.).
  • Performing administrative responsibilities to facilitate improving processes/procedures and an efficient and effective working environment;
  • Supervising, organizing, assigning and distributing workload among assigned staff to ensure the department operates in a manner that is efficient, volume and outcome responsive
  • Facilitating improvement in processes/procedures in an efficient and effective working environment.
  • Maintaining a system for detecting, documenting and reporting discrepancies/errors; taking appropriate action(s), as required
  • Performing MRI procedures as outlined in the procedure manuals; anticipating impacts of change on quality assurance procedures and initiating timely adaptations to ensure quality control is maintained
  • Participating in profession development, teaching/educational activities, safety and quality improvement programs to ensure excellence in the provision of services
  • Communicating and disseminating relevant information to team members and management personnel, in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Observing, understanding and ensuring compliance with Hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Adhering to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Performing cross-functional responsibilities as assigned, or requested
Qualifications
  • Must be physically able to do the job
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Radiation Sciences program. Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO), required. Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), preferred.
  • 5 years frontline MRI experience.
  • Proven Leadership Skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve problems creatively required.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a strong knowledge of communication media, its uses and impact; understands how to achieve consistency by standardizing material (manuals, orientation and training materials, etc.); knowing how to present a case supporting a recommendation required.
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner.
  • Demonstrate self-direction, creativity, reliability, adaptability and flexibility.
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an effective team member
  • Ability to teach, coach, train, mentor, team build.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and facilitate teamwork.
  • Excellent analytical, problem recognition and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet patient/staff needs in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and work proficiently.
  • Ability to meet continuing education requirements required.
  • Effective computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of applicable Hospital and departmental policies, procedures guidelines, protocols and practices .
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methods and an understanding of how to develop measurements and benchmarks
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and their applications with information on a full range of available technical training and educational upgrading options both internal and external preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and work proficiently at all sites.

Additional Information

Status: Temporary Full Time (Approx. 1 year)

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 7,5 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $45.982 to $59.737per hour
