Industrial Sector Opportunity

A staffing partner focused on industrial manufacturing, processing and facilities maintenance across Western Canada is hiring for an on-site Millwright role in Vancouver, BC. This position supports heavy-production and processing environments, planned shutdowns, and continuous-improvement maintenance programs at major industrial sites.

Position: Industrial Millwright (Journeyperson) — On-site, Vancouver, BCRole Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical installation, alignment, assembly and repair of industrial equipment including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and rotating machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic failures; execute corrective and preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Lead and support planned shutdowns and turnarounds — execute precision disassembly/reassembly, rigging and load moves safely and on schedule.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals to complete work to specification and tolerances.
  • Operate welding and fabrication tasks (MIG/TIG/Stick) for on-site repairs and fabrications; perform fitting, grinding and machining as required.
  • Use CMMS to log work orders, parts consumed and maintenance histories; follow lockout/tagout and site safety procedures.
Skills Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Journeyperson Millwright ticket (provincial certification) or Red Seal equivalent with 3+ years of industrial millwright experience.
  • Proven mechanical troubleshooting experience in manufacturing/processing environments and experience with shutdowns/turnarounds.
  • Hands-on skills in rigging/hoisting, alignment, bearing replacement, and welding; strong blueprint/schematic reading ability.

Preferred

  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, VFDs and basic PLC/electrical fault finding.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (e.g., Maximo, Avantis), confined space entry, fall protection and WHMIS certifications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple Vancouver-area sites; flexible to shift work and overtime during shutdowns.
