Onsite work location
Located at 19295 25 Ave, Surrey, BC V3Z 3X1, this full-time position offers a consistent 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday-to-Friday schedule, ensuring 40 hours per week with no weekend shifts.
Why this role matters
The Material Handler (Distribution Centre) is responsible for moving, storing, and distributing products to EBH branches and customers. They keep the warehouse organized, provide prompt service, and maintain high standards for accuracy, productivity, and safety.
What to expect in the role
- Order Assembly & Shipping: Pick materials using an RF scanner, place in designated areas, operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks), pack, weigh, label, prepare shipping documents, and load trucks.
- Receiving & Inventory Management: Unload shipments, note damages/shortages, store items, record receipts in warehouse software, and relocate/consolidate inventory.
- Quality & Claims: Inspect goods for damages or shortages, forward documentation to appropriate personnel, and address quality issues as needed.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Follow safe work practices, wear required PPE, keep work areas clean/organized, and report hazards.
Ideal candidate profile
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, including shipping/receiving, is an asset
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand/move for 6+ hours per day
- Computer literacy with the ability to learn new software programs
- Basic mathematical skills with the ability to calculate simple equations mentally
- Ability to be inclusive, collaborative, and respectful
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A forklift license is an asset
- Experience with RF Scanners is an asset
