The Coordinator, Development Services plays a crucial role in achieving the organization's fundraising goals and objectives in Development. This position is responsible for a broad range of proactive and strategic operational activities supporting fundraising efforts, maintaining and optimizing key development processes, identifying meaningful opportunities for prospects and donors, and managing specific cultivation and stewardship functions.
How you will make an impact every day
Development Processes, CRM Training, and Fundraising Support
- Acts as a central expert and key resource for donor information in the database, ensuring data quality, compliance, and adherence to processes and promoting the adoption of best practices
- Liaises and collaborates with the CRM team, regional development teams and fundraising support staff to suggest ways to optimize the use of CRM
- Proactively establishes and manages systems for optimal and seamless donor file storage in the central SharePoint site and trains staff accordingly.
- Leads the onboarding and training of team members related to CRM and develops related materials for training purposes and identifies ongoing training and support needs for regional teams and support staff.
- Supports the Manager with data requests and prospect research to identify, qualify, prioritize, and track potential development leads, ensure data integrity and accuracy, ensuring alignment with fundraising priorities, opportunities, and reporting
- Triages work requests to ensure completeness of information and adherence to established development processes
Acknowledgement, Recognition and Stewardship
- Leads the gift agreement process for donor agreements, ensuring all gift agreements are saved in their respective donor and partner files.
- Proactively enters donor stewardship and recognition deliverables into CRM for the stewardship action track process.
- Supports the activation of the stewardship matrix and key stewardship and recognition deliverables across the country, manages, sources, and tracks any outbound collateral specific to central operations support, and proactively identifies and elevates stewardship risks and opportunities for top national prospects and donors.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship Activities
- Ensure the seamless collection and coordination of information for prospect and donor advancement purposes
- Proactively supports regions with cultivation events by pulling targeted donor lists from CRM, assisting with event bios on donors attending to ensure key relationship managers know who to connect with at the events.
- Leads and overseas the management of events in CRM to ensure fundraising support team members are tracking cultivation events and cultivation or stewardship mailings in CRM.
- Supports the execution of donor strategy by coordinating with team members on tracking the progress of donor engagement efforts in CRM.
- Leads and ensures the seamless collection and coordination of information for prospect and donor advancement purposes and cultivation events.
Who we need
Education
- Post-secondary education in a related field or relevant experience in a similar role
- 3+ years working within a major gift environment and supporting all stages of the donor lifecycle
- Knowledge of best practices in cultivation and stewardship
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Superior organizational, project management and resource management skills
- Ability to work in a multi-layered, complex, results-oriented institution with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Very strong attention to detail
- A professional and superior client-service approach
- Self-motivated, with sound judgement and ethical decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of CRM programs (Blackbaud, Salesforce) is an asset
- An ingrained curiosity with an innovative streak; ability to acquire inside expertise without losing outside point of view, have new ideas and be willing to try new things
- A dedicated team work ethic
- Mastery of various Microsoft Office applications
- Appreciation and understanding of AFP, CAGP, APRA Code of Ethics, Donor Bill of Rights
