About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technician or Engineer with 8 - 10 years of proven experience in the design of HVAC systems and/or familiarity with electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical design capabilities, be proficient in AutoCAD, and have hands-on experience working on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial projects
  • Collaborate with electrical engineering teams to integrate HVAC and electrical systems effectively
  • Prepare and revise technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD
  • Conduct on-site inspections, field coordination, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff or project teams
  • Bid tendering, contract management and budget management

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 8 –10 years of relevant experience in HVAC system design and/or electrical systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems integration
  • Experience working on-site, including field coordination and issue resolution
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Familiarity with local, provincial and national building codes
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in MEP system design for commercial, institutional, or industrial development projects
  • Familiarity with Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, ASHRAE standards and other applicable design codes and regulations
  • Knowledge of CCDC contracts and standard construction processes
