Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant is as follows:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with precision
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Maintain bank and credit card accounts, including reconciliation and transaction monitoring
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and conduct regular budget vs. actual
- Track and reconcile personal spending and investment-related expenditures
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with employment standards and tax regulations
- Record FMV (Fair Market Value) adjustments and manage financial reporting for trusts and investment holdings
- Lead cash flow planning and ongoing cash management
- Coordinate and compile information for tax preparation, working with external tax professionals
- Handle CRA audits, reviews, and objections, acting as liaison with government bodies
- Manage HST filings and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Maintain complete, up-to-date financial records and perform reconciliations as needed
- Support risk management efforts across financial and operational domains
- Coordinate and manage business insurance policies for the family office and personal assets
- Create and deliver monthly operational reports that synthesize financial and administrative metrics
- Work closely with external advisors (legal, tax, investment) to ensure alignment across services
- Provide general administrative support to senior stakeholders, including document management, calendar coordination, and vendor liaison
TMGMS
- Minimum 5-10+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or family office administration
- Designation such as CPA or equivalent is an asset
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax regulations and financial reporting standards
- Experience working in a family office, high-net-worth individual environment, or investment-focused organization is strongly preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
