Our client is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of heating and cooling equipment for the North American school and high-rise condominium / hotel markets. Under the guidance of the Electrical or Assembly Supervisor the Electrical Technician is responsible reading and following work orders to create, assemble and wire electrical components that will be used in our HVAC units. This includes assembling wire harnesses, wiring control panels, HVAC units and other electrical components. The incumbent will be a safety and quality champion while ensuring that all tasks are completed according to project timelines. He/she will antiCipate and resolve any technical issues as they arise.
PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read drawings, schematics, diagrams and work orders in order to determine job instructions
- Build and assemble electrical components
- Install electrical wires in in components and HVAC units
- Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting and isolation of faults on high and low voltage
components
- Ensure that Temspec and client quality standards and met and maintained
- Issue accurate and timely reports as required
- Follows "Safety First" philosophy
- Maintain clean and organized working area
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post Secondary education in electrical engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience testing and troubleshooting high and low voltage lines within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings
- Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills with a hands on approach to problem resolution
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with a positive "Can Do" attitude
- Superior organizational skills
- Working knowledge of safe work practices
