As a key member of the municipal law team, you'll play a pivotal role in advising on and managing land development projects, navigating clients through municipal approval processes, and representing their interests in hearings and negotiations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Advising on municipal and planning law matters related to land use and development.
Drafting and negotiating development-related agreements (subdivision, site plan, cost sharing, etc.).
Representing clients before the Ontario Land Tribunal, Committee of Adjustment, and related forums.
Guiding raw land through development approval processes including zoning and environmental compliance.
Managing development charges, parkland dedications, and planning amendments.
A licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
A legal professional with 3+ years of direct experience in municipal and planning law, ideally gained at a law firm or within a municipal legal department.
Deeply knowledgeable in corporate and municipal law with strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
Comfortable running files independently, while remaining collaborative and team-oriented.
Known for excellent communication, strong drafting skills, and strategic problem-solving.
Enjoy working directly with landowners, municipalities, developers, and planners.
Excel in managing dynamic files and navigating regulatory frameworks with confidence.
