Corporate/Real Estate Law Clerk (3-5 Years Experience)

Position Overview:

A boutique law firm in downtown Hamilton is seeking a confident and independent Corporate/Real Estate Law Clerk with 3-5 years of experience to work closely with a senior partner. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to own files from start to finish, primarily supporting routine corporate minute book management and typical residential real estate transactions. Some commercial real estate experience is a plus but not essential. Get opportunity for someone to grow with a team of clerks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain corporate minute books with routine but accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Handle residential real estate transactions, ensuring smooth file progression and adherence to timelines.
  • Support some commercial real estate matters (an asset but not required).
  • Own the communication flow with the senior partner, initiating updates and follow-ups as needed.
  • Coordinate and prepare legal documents related to corporate and real estate files.
  • Ensure files are organized, complete, and compliant with firm standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 3-5 years of law clerk experience in corporate and/or real estate law.
  • Basic corporate minute book management experience; nothing too complex is required.
  • Comfortable and familiar with typical residential real estate transactions; commercial real estate experience is a bonus.
  • Independent thinker with confidence to own files and lead communications with the partner.
  • Easy-going, personable, and responsible able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to thrive in a smaller, boutique firm environment with direct partner interaction.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Full-time, in-office position in downtown Hamilton.
  • Standard business hours, Monday to Friday.
