The Role

Our client, a respected and growing insurance organization, is looking for a Group Benefits Account Specialist to join their collaborative team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a remote-first role with just one in-office day per month, offering stability, flexibility, and long-term growth potential.

This position is ideal for someone with prior experience in the group benefits, MGA, or insurance brokerage space who enjoys the behind-the-scenes work that keeps things running smoothly. Youll work closely with a Calgary-based Advisor, providing essential administrative and back-office support for client renewals, quoting, reporting, and coordination with carriers.

Responsibilities

  • Support Advisors with group benefits renewals, RTQs, and reporting
  • Liaise with insurance carriers to resolve client inquiries and process updates
  • Analyze carrier proposals and claims data to recommend plan solutions
  • Maintain organized records in HubSpot and Dropbox
  • Attend monthly team meetings and support internal coordination

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the group benefits, insurance, or financial services industry
  • Background working with MGAs, insurance brokerages, or employee benefits providers
  • Strong understanding of benefit plan structures, renewals, and carrier communication
  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Office 365, HubSpot, and Dropbox
