The Toronto Blue Jays are in search of a Specialist, Security Operations to join our Security team.
Reporting to the Director, Security, the Specialist plays a key role within our security operations at Rogers Centre, collaborating with People Operations on recruitment strategies and onboarding, coordinating in-person training and scheduling for baseball games, concerts, and smaller events for 400+ employees, along with building and sustaining a strong working relationship with vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Hiring
- Collaborate with People Operations on full-cycle recruitment
- Assist applicants with offers, background checks, and onboarding via SuccessFactors
- Coordinate and assist with recruitment lifecycle including attending various job fairs
Onboarding
- Coordinate in-person training with the security mangers for all new and rehires
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely onboarding of new hires into various employee systems
Event Scheduling
- Collect availability for game days and events through ABI scheduling software
- Coordinate scheduling of baseball games, concerts, and smaller events in advance for 400+ employees
- Monitor and adjust schedules based on operational changes or staff availability
- Collaborate with third-party vendor(s) to ensure our workforce meets the requirements for each event
Payroll & Timekeeping
- Input schedules and worked hours for bi-weekly payroll processing
- Educating staff on using ABI to update their availability for all events
- Reconcile timecards, flag discrepancies, and ensure timely entry each pay period
- Liaise with payroll team, as needed, to resolve payment issues
Daily Operations
- Handle staff inquiries, book-offs, and real-time schedule adjustments
- Prepare and distribute daily security deployments and sign-in sheets
- Update and manage the staff Master List with hires, exits, and promotions
- Monitor sign-ins and ensure coverage for critical areas in case of no-shows
- Work with other department leaders and event supervisors to update employee profiles and performance management
- Provide department with accurate staffing summaries within approved budget targets
Qualifications:
- Completed diploma or degree in business, business administration, workforce management or similar program
- 2 or more years of working experience in security operations, or related field
- Proficient in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Access) and payroll and scheduling systems (i.e. Kronos/ADP/ABI)
- Polished organizational skills detailed oriented, meticulous critical thinker
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent administrative skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident and effective communication skills interpersonal, written, and verbal
- Required to work a flexible schedule based on our baseball, concerts and events calendar
