City Build Recruitment is working with a highly respected multidisciplinary design firm seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead major building-sector projects across Alberta.

This is a high-impact role for a seasoned engineer who thrives on solving complex structural challenges, mentoring teams, and driving technical innovation. You'll contribute to a range of mid-to-large scale projects in a collaborative environment focused on design excellence, client impact, and long-term sustainability.

• Lead and execute complex structural designs with autonomy and confidence

• Solve technical challenges through innovative, code-compliant solutions

• Recommend improvements to reduce costs and enhance design quality

• Manage multiple projects ensuring timelines, budgets, and performance metrics are met

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and agencies; prepare reports and design change recommendations

• Mentor junior staff and support technical investigations and development

• Uphold values of quality, collaboration, and community in day-to-day work

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta - APEGA

• 7+ years experience, ideally in a consulting environment

• Strong knowledge of structural systems, building codes, and engineering principles

• Experience leading projects and managing client relationships

• Proficiency in structural design tools and engineering software

• Excellent communication and coordination skills

• Demonstrated ability to balance design innovation with cost and constructability
