JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT: Production EFFECTIVE DATE: June 26, 2025

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager LOCATION: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assembling, modifying, repairing and providing time estimates for cable while ensuring cable personnel stay on schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cable Assembly and Repair

  • Keep track of hours for cable personnel
  • Performs various types of soldering including surface mount, thru-hole, and hand-soldering.
  • Assemble and repair cable as well as manage cable assembly for on-time completion of orders.
  • Consults production schedule to prepare work area and equipment.
  • Train new full-time and temporary cable personnel as required.
  • Identify problems and help improve processes.
  • Ensure that orders are completed to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure that company deadlines are met.

System Management

  • Maintain, edit, and complete production orders.
  • Inform the Operations Manager of any errors in Bill of Materials.

Parts Inventory

  • Maintain accurate parts inventory for all components related to cable assembly and repair in our system.
  • Assist and inform the Operations Manager on parts required for cable build orders and minimum stocking levels.

Shipping and Receiving

  • Receive goods into the building.
  • Package items in our prescribed manner for shipping.

All other duties as required.

  • Any other items that come in accordance with your day-day.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous related experience preferred; on-the-job training offered.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to solder.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals.
  • Experience in production.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to use handheld tools and power drills.
  • Ability to measure and strip wire lengths based on specs provided.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs/22.68kg safely.
  • Ability to use hands to route wires.
