Job Title: Estimator - Commercial Construction

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator - Commercial Construction to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to grow with a company that offers diverse projects and long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the estimating team, taking ownership of creating accurate budgets and cost estimates.

  • Coordinate personnel, tools, and software used in the estimating process.

  • Collaborate with the General Contracting Division Manager to ensure standards are met for bid documentation and budget tools.

  • Develop precise bid estimates using estimating software, spreadsheets, and manual calculations.

  • Help determine which projects are strategically viable for bidding based on company resources and market conditions.

  • Assign tasks within the estimating team and ensure thorough review of project plans and specifications.

  • Identify and evaluate potential project risks.

  • Mentor junior estimators and coordinators, offering guidance and support as needed.

  • Prepare bid instructions, forms, and supporting documentation.

  • Maintain thorough documentation and communication of project information.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential and commercial construction estimating.

  • Proven track record in estimating residential, commercial, and/or institutional projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to unify teams toward shared objectives.

  • Reliable, deadline-oriented work ethic.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Heavy Bid software is an asset.

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

  • Valid BC driver's license.
