Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and self-sufficient Field Crew Leader to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role for an experienced heavy equipment operator who can work independently, manage a helper, and maintain quality and safety standards on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for open trench excavation and telecom utility installation
• Lead and coordinate daily activities with a small crew (typically one helper)
• Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety procedures
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Document work progress and communicate with supervisors as needed
• Travel occasionally to project sites in the Vancouver Lower Mainland

Ideal Candidate

• Strong operator with experience in trenching and underground utility work
• Reliable and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrates leadership and clear communication skills
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willing to travel as needed

Qualifications

• 35 years experience operating heavy equipment in a utility or construction setting
  
• Proven ability to manage small crews and job sites
• Valid Class 1 Drivers License (required)
• Class 3 License (required)
• Familiarity with telecom infrastructure installation is a must
  
• Concrete experience is an asset
