THE ROLE

A leading full-service law firm with offices across Western Canada is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to join its Vancouver office. The successful candidate will bring practical experience from a fast-paced corporate law environment and have completed a recognized legal assistant or paralegal training program (or possess equivalent experience).

This is a client-facing role requiring strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The Corporate Paralegal will work directly with lawyers across the firm on a range of corporate transactions, playing a key part in delivering exceptional legal services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and file corporate documents with provincial and federal corporate registries
  • Handle corporate filings across various jurisdictions in Canada
  • Draft legal documents for a variety of corporate transactions, including:
  • Incorporations
  • Amendments
  • Dissolutions
  • Amalgamations
  • Continuances
  • Partnerships
  • Trade names and other related filings
  • Conduct and review corporate searches
  • Audit and update minute books, identifying and correcting deficiencies
  • Respond to inquiries from lawyers and clients on corporate matters
  • Maintain and update corporate records using database systems, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a recognized legal assistant or paralegal diploma (or equivalent experience)
  • 58 years of experience in a corporate paralegal or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of British Columbia and federal corporate legislation
  • Proficiency in drafting corporate legal documents
  • Experience with corporate database software (e.g., Emergent or a comparable system)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
