The ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is proud to be partnering with one of Western Canada's most respected and recognized boutique law firms in their search for a Legal Assistant to join their growing team. Since 2020, the firm has doubled in size and continues to experience strong growth. Known for its supportive culture, the firm places a high value on work-life balance and offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Legal Administrative Assistant work from file opening to file closure
  • Draft routine pleadings, including application records, books of authorities, appeal records, and appeal books
  • Prepare and manage correspondence
  • File legal documents with various court registries
  • Communicate professionally with opposing counsel, experts, and clients
  • Monitor and maintain bring-forward (BF) limitation dates

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of general office experience
  • Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and staff at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
  • Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and ability to quickly adapt to new software and technologies
  • Solid understanding of the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules, with the ability to interpret relevant Rules and Acts
  • Experience with ProLaw is considered an asset
