Salary: $33.77- $38.77

Summary:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of programs serving children and youth. This role involves working directly with children aged 612 in camp, school, or recreational settings. The coordinator will ensure a safe, fun, and engaging environment while supervising staff, planning schedules, and managing the overall camp needs. Responsibilities also include developing, planning, and implementing age-appropriate activities, games, and educational programs that support the growth and well-being of children.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Staff/Volunteer Orientation, Development and Communication

  • Works with the program supervisor to recruit, orient, and direct program staff delivering groups and camps. This includes planning, orientation, monitoring, recommending and coordinating training, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate and document staff meetings.

Service Delivery Support

  • Review and monitor service and activities to ensure that goals of youth served, program goals and contract requirements and outcomes are being met and appropriate service/activities provided.
  • Ensure that services and activities are provided within the context of program and Agency philosophy, values and principles as laid out in the Program Policies and Procedures Manual and Agency Personnel Policies.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely documentation, participant system tracking and other service tracking systems as directed. Communicate with the program assistant and supervisor regarding changes or needs in group services and regarding camper progress and any incidents.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with volunteers, community partners, families and youth; arrange and coordinate opportunities for activities in the community with other organizations and partners. This will include participation in committee or other community organizational work.
  • Register and orient new children/youth and their families to programming as well as other relevant Agency programs and services.
  • Direct support to children/youth and program as required.
  • Administrative support for program delivery as required, such as creating session plans, attendance tracking sheets, purchasing materials for group and 1:1 services, etc.

Education and Experience

  • The Program Coordinator will have a diploma in a field related to Child and Youth Care, Recreation, School Age Child Care or related areas. First Aid certificate and clear criminal record check required.
  • The Program Coordinator will have at least 2 years experience or the equivalent combination of education, training as well as experience working with school-age children/youth with additional support needs and their families.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • The Program Coordinator understands and can work effectively with children/youth with additional support needs and their families and community partners to provide programming.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, instructional, written and oral skills.

Start Date: Immediately

Location: Tricities

Hours of work: 35 hours per week (flexible to be scheduled with supervisor, evenings and weekends may be required)

Contract End date: August 31, 2025

Post Closing date -June 12, 2025
