We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our clients finance team. This role plays a key part in managing financial reporting, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring accurate and timely financial data to guide strategic decision-making. Reporting into the Sr. Controller, you will support with key decisions in the facility for job costing and pricing strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial integrity is maintained.
- Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis on a regular basis to support financial accuracy.
- Develop, document, and monitor internal controls to support compliance and enhance financial reporting.
- Manage fixed asset records, including tracking, valuation, and depreciation schedules.
- Review and validate financial data across accounting systems, ensuring completeness and correctness.
- Support budgeting processes by analyzing spending trends, forecasting revenue, and advising on expenditure control measures.
- Lead or contribute to the implementation and improvement of financial systems and processes.
- Train team members on accounting systems and provide oversight on their financial outputs to ensure compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners on various accounting-related matters.
- Assist with payroll review and processing, including potential expansion to cover multiple regions.
- Perform additional finance tasks or projects as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA designation or progress toward designation is considered an asset).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Proficiency with mid-tier ERP software, particularly for accounting and reporting; experience with system transitions or upgrades is beneficial.
- Experience in a manufacturing or inventory-driven environment is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead meetings, drive process improvements, and contribute to team development.
- Comfortable operating in a high-paced environment and adaptable to change.
