Our client in the West End GTA has a great opportunity for an experienced Director of Finance to lead its finance function. The company is a mid-sized business operating in an asset-intensive service environment. This role is an ideal fit for a detail-oriented and operationally minded financial leader who is ready to take ownership of a hands-on finance team and contribute to strategic decision-making at the executive level. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards. * Manage and mentor finance staff to ensure high-quality, timely financial operations. * Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes in partnership with business units. * Maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory and policy compliance. * Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. * Monitor cash flow and manage treasury activities to maintain financial flexibility. * Provide financial modeling and strategic support to the senior leadership team. * Coordinate year-end audits, tax filings, and external financial reporting. * Evaluate financial tools and systems to enhance reporting, accuracy, and efficiency. * Develop and deliver executive-level dashboards and insights. * Identify opportunities for cost management and operational improvement. * Provide oversight of asset-related financial activities, including insurance and equipment financing. Qualifications & Skills * CPA designation required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. * At least 8 years of progressive finance experience, including 3+ years in a management or leadership role. * Strong command of Canadian GAAP or ASPE, and familiarity with tax and audit practices. * Experience with accounting platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage; advanced Excel capabilities. * Proven ability to manage full-cycle accounting in operationally intensive environments. * Industry experience in logistics, capital equipment, or similar sectors is a strong asset. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders. * High attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and process-driven approach. * Demonstrated ability to develop teams, delegate tasks, and meet critical deadlines While we appreciate all interest in the position, only candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
