Role Summary

Do you take pride in precision and control behind the controls? At GS Construction, our Skid Steer Operators are essential to the success of deep underground water and sewer rehabilitation projects.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Equipment Operation Safely and effectively operate skid steers with a variety of attachments for grading, trench support, material handling, and backfilling.
  • Tight-Space Maneuvering Navigate and operate equipment confidently in tight and congested work zones common to deep utility job sites.
  • Routine Maintenance Conduct daily checks and minor maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
  • Site Coordination Collaborate with foremen and crew members to align equipment use with site demands and project goals.
  • Safety Compliance Follow all site-specific and general safety protocols, proactively identifying and addressing hazards.
  • Documentation Maintain accurate logs for equipment use, maintenance, and any incidents or safety concerns.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating skid steers on deep underground water and sewer sites.
  • Safety certifications (CSTS, First Aid/CPR) are considered assets.
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license with a clean abstract.
