About the Role
MLF is recruiting an experienced, strategic, people-centred HR leader to join the organization during an exciting time of growth and transformation.
Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, the Vice President, Human Resources (VPHR) is a strategic advisor and culture champion within an integrated production environment. The VPHR oversees all aspects of human resources, labour relations, talent management, organizational development, and HR regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on aligning HR practices to business strategy and operational goals. They will be instrumental in building and leading the next chapter of HR strategy and operational excellence during a period of organizational growth. This includes championing the employee experience, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and developing scalable, enterprise-wide initiatives to attract, retain, and grow talent. They promote a collaborative, inclusive, service-oriented and high-performance workplace culture. With exceptional business acumen, an operational mindset, and a collaborative style, the VPHR is a connector across departments and MLF facilities. They support leaders across the organization in building capability, navigating change, and fostering accountability and continuous improvement. They are an exceptional team leader for their HR colleagues, serving as a mentor and coach to the team.
Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate has at least ten to fifteen years of progressive HR leadership experience, including seven to ten years in a senior HR role, ideally within manufacturing, food processing, or a related industry. A post-secondary degree in Human Resources is preferred. A CPHR designation, with experience in continuous improvement methodologies, and familiarity with family-owned business models are assets. Strong knowledge of employment laws, labour relations, and best practices in workforce management is required. The VPHR has a proven track record of aligning HR strategy with business goals in a dynamic, operationally intensive environment. Experience with unionized and non-unionized environments is ideal.
