About the Position

This role will lead the design and execution of cohort-based accelerator programs of the Mobility Unlimited Hub at MaRS. This role involves managing program deliverables across multiple initiatives while fostering strong relationships with participating ventures, corporate partners, government agencies, and ecosystem stakeholders. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and the overall success of the cohorts.

This is a 1-year contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Delivery:
    • Support the delivery of the cohort programs for assigned accelerators, incubator or similar grouped service offerings programs.
    • Fulfill contractual obligations to the program funders including assessment of venture company fit, allocation and spending of program funds, and promoting programs to the innovation ecosystem.
    • Key partners and departments include, but not limited to program funders, Finance, Ventures and Ecosystems, Digital Platform, Marketing and Communications, Legal, and MaRS Innovation Hubs
  • Program Design:
    • Evaluate, develop, and refine a range of business support services appropriate for venture companies accessing cohort and similar types of grouped services programs.
    • Ensure program alignment with the Ventures and Ecosystems portfolio so that participating venture companies receive business services targeted to their needs and MaRS can deliver the program in a repeatable, scalable manner.
  • Convening & Community Building:
    • Engage and build connections between members of MaRS innovation community, including corporate partners, venture companies, and the general public by developing and delivering curated events such as demo days and other networking events.
    • Venture companies are active participants in programming efforts and contribute in the form of feature showcase, subject matter expertise, and product demonstrations.
  • Strategy:
    • Contribute towards defining MaRS Mobility Unlimited Hub program strategy working closely with the Hub Senior Manager.
  • Reporting & Program Evaluation:
    • Manage deadlines, write and own program activity summaries and program reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Education, Public Policy, STEM or equivalent hands-on work experience
  • Product Management experience an asset
  • 3+ years of program/project management experience
  • Understanding of the startup landscape and respective stakeholder roles in the ecosystem
  • Planning, project manage & convening capability
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, G Suite, Slack, Calendar, Asana, and several other automation tools
  • Strong interest in entrepreneurship and tech startups and an understanding of basic startup principles and stages
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects with contractual milestones
  • Attention to detail in a constantly evolving, fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills oral, written and presentation
  • Familiarity with accessibility and disability inclusion
