Typical Day in Role:
• Key accountabilities include design, development and maintenance of cloud platforms, services, and components to enable safe enterprise-wide use of public cloud offerings
• Technical ownership/leadership of a component of a larger product.
• Designing, implementing, and refactoring code (typically Go, Python).
• Ensuring software, programs and applications are developed and/or configured to meet high availability, integrity and reliability, security, and compliance requirements.
• Working with other lead engineers and architects on breaking-down, scoping and estimating tasks.
• Working with application teams for successful onboarding onto the Platform
• Participating in planning and retrospective sessions, attending stand-ups, etc.
• Provide mentorship, peer review and code review
• Lead a product/service, and define functions or features for cloud platforms, lead the work of 4+ engineers
• Be able to build and operate the highly available and scalable software and infrastructure.
• Day: stand-up/daily scrum with team in Agile framework, 2-week sprint periods; tracking work in Kanban; work on different tasks and provide updates; not always deploying at end of every sprint but working towards tasks set on roadmap
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 8+ years of hands-on technical working experience with Cloud Environments such as GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.
2) 1-2 years of hands-on cloud operations and administration experience with GCP
3) 5+ years' technical working experience in an Infrastructure Operations, DevOps or Cloud Engineering Operations type of role
4) 5+ years' hands-on technical working experience with development/scripting languages, container-based technologies, config management tools, container-based technologies, CI/CD tools, and Infrastructure as Code
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Unix administration skills
2) DevOps experience

4) GCS experience
5) Persistent Storage solutions experience
Best VS. Average Candidate:
**Best is someone who started as DevOps and progressed into a Senior Cloud Engineer with recent hands-on GCP experience;
