Director – Supply Chain

Greater Vancouver Region, British Columbia

Lock Search Group is excited to be supporting a national leader within the Food Manufacturing sector to build out their leadership team. Cameron Lappin of the Lock Search Group, have been retained to support in this integral search for their Director of Supply Chain. Our client is motivated to add a professional who has a proven leadership track record within CPG manufacturing sector who excels in a collaborative setting.

Reporting to the executive team, you will be responsible for the expansion and continuous development of their operations. The ideal candidate will have high emotional intelligence and can utilize superb communication skills to achieve their stretched, innovative goals.Procurement, Demanding Planning, Production, and Operations will all report into this incoming Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Business savvy, with operational expertise within the CPG sector, preferably from food manufacturing
  • Excellent relationship skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic and diverse leadership teams – internal stakeholder management is essential
  • Oversee the preparation and management of complex strategic plans, production objectives, KPI's, budgeting and long-term planning
  • Consistently achieve production requirements while ensuring fiscal discipline and operate within budgetary guidelines without sacrificing quality
  • Lead and maintain logistics and operation policies in the areas of efficiency, material usage, logistics, safety employee relations and performance measures.
  • Oversee inventory & distribution planning team to ensure all inventory is effectively managed and logistics cost budgets are achieved
  • Review all 3rd party contracts and partner on tenders with ownership to ensure proper financial controls are put in place pertaining to operations aspects of business
  • Recruit, train, develop, educate, and motivate team members to maximize their potential though regular business reviews and structured training
  • Collaborate with multiple teams and across business units throughout the company to achieve overall operational objectives

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Business, Commerce, or Operations Management
  • MBA preferred, but not necessary
  • Minimum 5-7 years of leadership progressive manufacturing or operations experience in a quality focused CPG environment (high preference to food experienced professionals)
  • Ability to communicate, and present at an exceptional level – both written and verbal
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to innovate and implement. Our client is seeking an ‘out of the box thinker, and collaborator'
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with ERP systems required.
  • Demonstrated success in leading manufacturing operations and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
  • Solid project management capabilities, including planning, execution, and oversight to ensure alignment with scope, budget, and deadlines.
  • Strong financial insight, with expertise in budgeting, variance analysis, and enforcing pricing controls.
  • Direct experience, building and developing high performing teams and managers
  • Must be able to coach and mentor, but also maintaining expectations for results with accountability
  • Advanced knowledge of computer applications, with proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint)
