We offer a wide variety of classes, workshops, and intensives, providing an environment that allows dancers to thrive and reach their full potential.

Position Overview:
We are seeking motivated and passionate Dance Teachers who are available to teach a range of dance classes, workshops, and intensives throughout the year. The focus areas for instruction include Acro, Strength & Flexibility, Turns, Leaps and Jumps, as well as offering Private and Semi-Private Lessons. Our teaching schedule is flexible and spans across the Durham region, allowing teachers to work with dancers of different skill levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach group and private dance classes in styles including but not limited to Jazz, Acro, Contemporary, Ballet, Strength & Flexibility, and more.

  • Lead workshops and intensives focused on technical skills like turns, leaps, jumps, and flexibility.

  • Offer private and semi-private lessons tailored to individual students' needs and goals.

  • Provide constructive feedback and progress updates to students and their parents in a positive and encouraging manner.

  • Create an inclusive, fun, and dynamic learning environment that inspires creativity and passion for dance.

  • Ensure proper safety protocols are followed in all classes, particularly in acro and high-risk movements.

  • Collaborate with other teachers to maintain a consistent and high-quality learning experience across all classes.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience teaching dance, ideally to competitive or highly skilled recreational dancers (ages 5-17).

  • Certifications in relevant dance styles (Jazz, Acro, Contemporary, Ballet, etc.) are highly valued.

  • Strong knowledge of dance technique, as well as the ability to break down complex movements for all levels.

  • A positive attitude and a passion for working with children and young adults.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give clear and constructive feedback.

  • Ability to foster a supportive, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere for all students.

  • Flexibility to teach at different studio locations across Durham region.

  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
