Job Overview:

At Mississauga Convention Centre, our people are the heart and soul of our business. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pakistani Cuisine Chef to join our culinary team for our kitchen banquet. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to large-scale events while working with a culinary team that values creativity, precision, and collaboration.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in traditional and modern Pakistani cuisine, with proven ability to prepare authentic dishes in a high volume, fast paced environment. You will support day-to-day culinary operations, prepare high-quality dishes, and contribute to a positive and efficient kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of Pakistani dishes, ensuring authenticity and consistency in taste and presentation.

  • Follow established recipes and presentation standards while also contributing to the development of new dishes.

  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and in accordance with banquet schedules.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation at all times.

  • Uphold food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards as per provincial health regulations.

  • Collaborate in planning and updating banquet menus with a focus on quality, seasonality, and authenticity.

  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies.

  • Ensure minimal food waste through efficient preparation and storage practices.

  • Work effectively within a team during large-scale events and independently during prep and setup.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pakistani Cook, preferably in a banquet or large kitchen environment.

  • Deep knowledge of Pakistani cuisine, ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.

  • Proven ability to handle high-volume food production while maintaining quality.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to culinary excellence.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multicultural kitchen team.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for events.
