The Client Service Clerk is responsible for providing front-line client support services, administrative and outreach support to the YWCA Women in Trades and Technology programs and staff team.

ABOUT YWCA TORONTO – WOMEN IN TRADES AND TECHNOLOGY
The Women in Trades and Technology programs provide training and employment service to women and gender diverse people interested in joining the construction, landscape and information technology industries. Programs are funded by MTCU (Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities) and are geared to educate women and gender diverse people about career opportunities in non-traditional occupations and train them in trades-specific programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with customizing and co-facilitating the presentation delivery of group or one-on-one information sessions about skilled trades programs to potential participants
  • Works with staff to monitor wait lists and assists participants registering for training program and services
  • Assist with research and administrative tasks as needed to support the Manager, Business Administrator, and/or program staff
  • Supports outreach activities to engage and recruit participants for the program
  • Maintains electronic and paper records of the type of workshops/information sessions delivered and the number of attendees
  • May assist in preparation of statistical reports and analysis of data
  • Works with the team in gathering of statistics and record keeping activities
  • Assists with program events at external sites and public events focused on promotion and networking, when required
  • Assists with internal and external events

QUALIFICATIONS
  • In-depth knowledge of an academic or technical discipline normally acquired through completion of a community college diploma (e.g. business administration, commerce or related field).
  • Advanced computer skills in Windows, Excel, Internet, spreadsheet and database applications
  • Operates in an environment that has minimal supervision, requires flexibility, adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to trouble shoot computer hardware network connections
  • Superior customer service, verbal and written communication skills
  • Very strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to maintain a positive approach and a professional manner at all times
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to meet multiple deadlines
  • Marketing experience an asset
  • Knowledge of another language an asset (e.g. Somali, Urdu, Hindi)

Note: This a Full-Time, contract position for 8 weeks. Canada Summer Jobs programs will end on August 30, 2025.
CANADA SUMMER JOBS PARTICIPANT CRITERIA
  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
*The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
**International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
