The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for research, administrative, customer service and project coordination duties related to the JUMP Etobicoke Program.
ABOUT YWCA TORONTO – YWCA JUMP ETOBICOKE
YWCA JUMP Etobicoke is a settlement program for newcomer women, female youth and gender diverse people in North and Central Etobicoke. The program has a strong employment emphasis paired with services addressing the adaptation, settlement and integration needs of newcomer women, female youth and gender diverse people. A comprehensive portfolio of services include: needs assessment, information and orientation, pre-employment, job search and skills training programs, wellness and mental health supports, community connections and professional networking opportunities; satellite workshops are offered in the North/West end of the GTA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Researches digital/online practices used in the settlement community to deliver client services
- Supports the delivery of workshops and individual services
- Conducts research to expand in-person, online or digital outreach efforts to meet the needs of newcomer women and youth
- May conduct outreach activities in collaboration with the Outreach/Employment Counsellor
- Assists with program outreach using Mailchimp, Survey Monkey or SMS texting
- Creates and/or updates distribution lists
- Assists with event planning of community events
- Assists with answering, screening, and redirecting calls on a busy switchboard
- Greets visitors and redirects them accordingly
- Assists in maintaining electronic records of the type of workshops/information sessions delivered, the number of attendees and participant evaluations
- Assists in preparing room setup and materials for program participants
- Assist with research and administrative tasks as needed to support the Manager, Business Administrator, and/or program Staff
- Other administrative responsibilities as required
- Works with the team in gathering of statistics and record keeping activities
- Assists with program events at external sites and public events focused on promotion and networking, when required
- Participates in team meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
- Secondary, college or university student with marketing, communications, programming, multi-media or business administration experience
- Knowledge of social media/digital research methods
- Must possess good computer skills with advanced knowledge in MS Word and Excel
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Note: This a Full-Time, contract position for 8 weeks. Canada Summer Jobs programs will end on August 30, 2025.
CANADA SUMMER JOBS PARTICIPANT CRITERIA
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
*The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
**International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
