We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with a strong background in wood-frame multifamily construction to join our team in Nanaimo, BC. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project documents, and supporting the preconstruction process from concept through to project handoff.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for wood-frame multifamily residential projects
Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare quantity take-offs
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
Develop comprehensive bid packages and cost proposals
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to review budgets and value engineering options
Maintain and update cost databases and historical records
Assist in preparing schedules, procurement plans, and project cash flows
Support contract negotiations and award recommendations
Minimum 7 years of experience in estimating for wood-frame multifamily construction projects
Strong knowledge of local building codes, materials, and trade practices
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent)
Exceptional analytical and numerical skills
Strong communication and organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
