Job Summary:
- Client Sequencing Solutions (RSS), a business within Client Diagnostics, is focused on developing a disruptive Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) platform along with a portfolio of reagents, assays and informatics solutions for multiple disease areas.
- We are looking for a Bioinformatics Scientist to support assay development efforts.
- In this role, you will collaborate closely with molecular biologists and bioinformatics scientists and apply your strong knowledge in processing and analyzing next generation sequencing technologies.
- You will maintain, improve and develop internal algorithms, tools and pipelines for oncology applications (such as variant calling) as well as analyzing biological data for assay development
- Provide hands-on bioinformatics data analyses and troubleshooting of bioinformatics pipelines.
- Implement innovative algorithms for minimal residual disease and cancer early detection.
- Collaborate with wet-lab scientists and bioinformaticians to develop new assay methodologies.
- Work with external collaborators of Client and provide bioinformatics support for them.
- Present and communicate team activities/project results across multiple functions in the organization.
- Strong statistical background.
- Experience with version control and familiarity with issue tracking systems (i.e .JIRA).
- Familiarity with database languages such as SQL.
- Experience with container-based virtualization (i.e. Docker).
- Familiarity with R Shiny App development.
- Experience with immune repertoires data analysis.
- Documented experience with sequencing/genomic data analysis (NGS), especially in the area of high-throughput sequence analysis.
- Proficient in general bioinformatics tools including tools for sequence alignment, variant analysis, and database queries.
- Proficient in Python and R.
- Proficient working in a Linux HPC environment.
- Hands-on experience in workflow management system (e.g. Nextflow, Snakemake).
- Working understanding of biological concepts and experimental methods commonly used in molecular biology and interest to learn more.
- Excellent communication, advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills; Responsible and reliable, goal and task oriented.
