Salary:

We are seeking a Software and Analytics Consultant with a strong background in software development, data analytics, and business analysis to join our team of experts. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing guidance and support throughout the software development lifecycle, including business analysis, as well as leveraging data analytics to provide decision support to senior leaders. You will need to be a software generalist with a good understanding of various programming languages and technologies, and an interest in solving challenging decision support, data analysis, and business problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to clients throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Use data analytics and data analysis to assist senior leaders in making decisions with far-reaching consequence.
  • Participate in the business analysis portions of the discovery phase of solution development to understand client requirements and provide software solutions to meet their needs
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Participate in the design, development, and testing of software applications.
  • Identify issues and develop solutions to address them.
  • Document solutions and provide training to clients as needed.

Requirements:

  • Non-negotiable (contracting terms with our client):
    • Canadian citizenship
    • Ability to maintain a Government of Canada Level 2 (SECRET) Security Clearance
    • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in software development, data analytics, or consulting
    • Able to work onsite in Ottawa 95% of the time.
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages and technologies such as JavaScript, Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, and SQL
  • Experience with analysis tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, or Tableau
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall
  • Strong business analysis skills with experience in gathering requirements, writing user stories, and testing
  • Familiarity with software design patterns and principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong command of oral and written English

The Work:

Assist senior leaders and military personnel making long-term strategic planning decisions as part of an embedded team of technical generalists. The successful candidate will have opportunities to explore many roles as they work on a diverse set of projects to support rapidly evolving requirements and priorities in a results-focused environment.

Kindly Note::

Location: 95% Onsite, 5% Remote

Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate will be required to live in the National Capital Region (Ottawa-Gatineau metropolitan area) of Canada and (for security reasons) be able to work onsite at Department of National Defence Headquarters (60 Moodie Dr) almost full time. (A small amount of off-site work is possible.)
