Civil Construction Foreperson


Milestone Equipment Contracting Inc is currently seeking a motivated and experienced truck driver to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating trucks to transport materials and/or equipment to and from construction sites. They ensure the efficient loading, securing, and unloading of cargo while adhering to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies. Additionally, they communicate effectively with site managers and team members, provide updates on delivery schedules, and coordinate transportation needs with dispatch. Safety and compliance are paramount, along with maintaining accurate records and having a positive friendly attitude, are also key responsibilities of a civil construction truck driver.
The ideal candidate will possess a range of skills and abilities to fulfill their role effectively. This includes proficient driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, clear communication abilities, problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and a positive friendly attitude. They are responsible for safely operating trucks, adhering to safety protocols, communicating with team members and stakeholders, resolving challenges as they arise, and maintaining accurate records. Overall, a successful civil construction truck driver combines driving expertise with safety consciousness, communication proficiency, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure the smooth and efficient transportation of materials to construction sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of tandem dump trucks and trucks with pony trailers to transport materials such as dirt, sand, and gravel, meeting production targets
  • Conduct daily pre and post-trip inspections and adhere to established daily maintenance protocols
  • Safely and effectively operate equipment to maintain productivity
  • Maintain clear communication with the site Dispatcher and Site Supervisors to ensure a thorough understanding of daily work requirements and expectations.
  • Uphold and promote safe work practices to contribute to a secure work environment
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and promptly report any necessary repairs or damages
  • Immediately report any unsafe work conditions, incidents, or concerns to the Supervisor or Superintendent
  • Provide trucking slips to onsite Supervisors as required


These duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the size and complexity of the project and the specific requirements of the organization.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Class 1 driver's license with applicable endorsements
  • Proficiency in performing extensive physical labor and other strenuous tasks.
  • Capability to work effectively in all weather conditions.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability
  • Maintain a friendly, positive, and open demeanor, with a continuous commitment to personal growth and improvement
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team setting
  • Actively contribute to and uphold a culture of job site safety, prioritizing safety as the primary concern for all
  • Previous experience as a general laborer in the construction industry is advantageous
  • Consistently complete daily safety documentation with accuracy
  • Possess strong attention to detail and the ability to execute instructions precisely
  • Excellent communication skills and adeptness at fostering teamwork in the workplace
