Traine Construction and Development (Traine) is currently seeking an Apprentice Carpenter to join our team in Colwood. As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Site Superintendent to learn as wide a range of construction skills as possible by integrating into the teams and assisting wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs tasks involving basic Carpentry and construction knowledge, as well as physical labour at construction projects.
• Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
• Measures, marks and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Erects and dissembles scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
• Provides assistance to craft workers such as carpenters, plasterers and masons.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience as a construction labourer may be required.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR preferred.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner if certified
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and the tools required in various construction processes.
• Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Use of radio.

Salary Range: $25 – 34/hour
