The Accountant will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records for the company including payroll, computers, invoicing, Quickbooks, insurance, monthly payments, HR files, and accounts payables
Schedule: 40 hours weekly
Responsibilities:
- Daily banking and account reconciliation
- Processing accounts receivable and payable
- Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process.
- Maintaining records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recording of journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Notifying the controller of any accounting errors or irregularities
- Managing client emails and other correspondence
- Documenting and ensuring records are up to date
- Monitoring and analyzing financial information to identify trends and variances
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong accounting and computer skills with accounting degree/ diploma
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
- 2+ years experience in a similar position
- Efficient problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Communicates effectively, in writing and verbally, with staff and vendors
- "Can do" attitude and team player
- Excellent with deadlines
- Familiarity with payroll and Davis Bacon is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, highly organized detail-oriented and self-motivated
