Our Burlington, Ontario location is growing, we are currently looking to add skilled welder/fabricators to our team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: various types of welding preparation tasks; welding products; and following customer drawings, specifications or other forms of instructions to create a finished manufactured product according to the designs.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Operate safety equipment and follow all required safety guidelines
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, rulers and any other necessary tools to ensure proper assembly
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
• Operate welding equipment proficiently
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings, instructions, designs, etc.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for stainless-steel, carbon and aluminum
• Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation
• Welding equipment maintenance as needed

Experience and Education

Suitable candidates will have:

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills while working independently or in a team setting.
• Be detail oriented
• Have the ability to read, write and communicate clearly with others.

Required:

• 3-5 years fitting and welding structural stainless steel and stainless-steel pipe. (TIG/MIG/FCAW)
• 1-3 years fitting and welding structural mild carbon steel tube and plate. (MIG/FCAW/SMAW)
• plasma cutting stainless steel
• read shop drawings (engineering and hand sketch)
• experience with metal working tools
• grinder, cold saw, hand brake shear, drill press etc.
• any other experience would be an asset
• High School Diploma or equivalent
