What you'll do

As the Content Strategist, Brand, you will be responsible for further refining and communicating our brand across diverse audience segments in a clear and compelling way. Working on the Brand Team and reporting to the Senior Manager, Brand Content Strategy, you will help position our products and services while deepening our overarching brand narrative. A big part of this work includes a great deal of consultation and collaboration with people inside and outside the organization. Through a range of inputs and research insights, you'll build on our brand's foundation, construct creative communications and campaigns, and shape the experience that prospective and current audiences have with Charitable Impact. This role is critical to building out our brand narrative to help it reach the hearts and minds of charitable audiences across Canada.

This position is a 12-month temporary full-time contract covering a maternity leave.

We are a hybrid office, with team members working from home and in our Vancouver office. This role is remote eligible within Canada and requires availability during the Pacific Standard Time Zone business hours.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop messaging frameworks and build brand narratives for our organization, products, giving programs, and services
  • Develop clear project and content direction briefs and meet with internal clients to provide strategic guidance and seek clarification on needs and deliverables
  • Manage the content calendar and provide strategic content direction and guidance to build brand awareness, drive user activity and increase brand discoverability
  • Partner with the video team to provide video strategy and direction including product education, charitable literacy, webinars, events, and social media
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team on senior leadership's brands, annual reports, events and internal education
  • Collaborate with key internal clients to develop and enhance content including Brand Design, Corporate Communications, Growth Marketing, Product Design, Donor Experience, Cause Funds, and Charitable Investment departments
  • Connect with external stakeholders including Cause Fund changemakers to coordinate production of content
  • Act as a brand advisor and provide advisory support to different areas of the organization as appropriate
  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to build understanding of our product, markets and internal and external audiences which include average-income Canadians, financial advisors and charitable changemakers

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of content strategy experience, or a combination of content strategy and relevant communications experience in positions of increasing responsibility and seniority
  • Experience developing and implementing content strategies and/or communications strategies, delivering product, and/or product marketing
  • Experience in developing brand and key messaging frameworks and tone of voice guidelines
  • Exceptional skill in facilitation, consultation, and bringing stakeholders together
  • Solid understanding of content and its role in user experience design principles and practices
  • Experience writing for web and mobile, including managing the content production process
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with a cross-functional team
  • Rigorous approach to documentation and organization
  • An empathetic and curious professional who is willing to learn and grow with the team

Compensation

The expected starting salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000/year.
