The Green Line LRT - SE Project will deliver the SE Segment of the Green Line LRT, a 16-kilometre route from Shepard at 130 Avenue S.E. to Grand Central/Event Center Station on the west of Elbow River in Beltline East.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Services, the Risk Manager oversees the Green Line LRT - SE Project Business Unit with risk and opportunity management activities, including developing and maintaining risk/opportunity management systems, monitoring and analyzing risks and opportunities, and making risks and opportunities related recommendations in support of execution of Phase 1 of the Green Line LRT - SE Project. Primary duties include:

• Manage the Risk team, including management of inputs from senior leaders, project leadership and other functional leads.
• Lead the organization in establishing and maintaining a formal process for risk and opportunity identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and control.
• Build solid risk management culture for the organization.
• Document, communicate, and report risk/opportunity status.
• Develop and update the overall project level risk and opportunity registers.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and other functional leads to gather risk, opportunity, and mitigation updates.
• Oversee Delivery Partner, consultant and contractors risk management systems and effort to ensure best practices are followed and ensure their risk management system supports Green Line's risk requirements.
• Evaluate risk and opportunity information from consultants, contractors, and partners for incorporation in the management process.
• Evaluate risks and mitigations for standard engineering practices.
• Ensure risks and opportunities' impacts are fully reflected within project cost and Schedule updates as applicable.
• Provide continuous awareness and report on Risk and Opportunity Management to the project team, and senior leadership as required.
• Highlight gaps in the team's mitigation approach and vulnerabilities for the project.
• Lead team through the development and execution of qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, including Monte Carlo risk simulations and the development of contingency and management reserve.
• Develop contingency draw down plan and manage contingency draw down activities.

• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering or Construction.
• At least 10 years of experience in Project Risk Management and Quantitative Risk Analysis, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, leading Engineering and Construction mega projects.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft suite and commercially available risk management software such as Safran, @Risk and PRA.
• Proven track record of leading Risk Management on a large-scale project.
• Experience in Claims Management or Contract Administration is desirable.
• Risk Management designations from Project Management Institute (PMI) or AACEi are considered as assets
• Knowledge of applicable Project Management Institute (PMI) and American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE) standards and procedures is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
