As the Supervisor, Mobility and Partnership Programs you will be responsible to provide ongoing strategic and operational support to Calgary Transit. You will provide recommendations for actions and policy implementation that impact the customer experience and Calgary Transit's overall revenues. Primary duties include:

  • Develop and implement strategies and policies to guide business unit operations.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of the multitude of technology products used in the division by developing and documenting processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide team leadership by mentoring, approving team and project budgets, setting strategic direction, developing annual workplans and setting priorities for the business unit.
  • Identify and evaluate data of existing and/or emerging issues and develop plans, strategies, and tactics to resolve issues.
  • Create plans and strategies to secure support from senior management and solicit input; after implementation monitor changes and create reports to document the effectiveness of improved strategies.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and deliver recommendations on highly technical and mathematical/financial information to the public, departmental teams, business unit leadership, management teams, regional municipalities City Council and the City of Calgary's Council.
  • Build relationships with City staff, civic partners, external organizations, and event organizers to help determine opportunities to work together.
  • Provide guidance and develop agreements with internal and external partners to offer 'bundled fare products' where a customer's event/venue ticket can be used on Calgary Transit services.
  • Collaborate with technical experts across Calgary Transit to evaluate, prioritize, and document the business unit's requirement when procuring consulting services, information technology hardware and software, fare collection technologies, and software consulting services.
  • Develop highly technical documents clearly outlining Calgary Transit's requirements for complex procurement projects.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Public Administration, Planning, Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in areas such as strategic planning, policy development, and/or business analysis.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalency) with no more than 6 demerits OR a Class 5 Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, and no current charges or suspension pending.
  • Ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
  • Previous experience with public transit operations, fare collections, and municipal procurement will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, organizational, and team concept skills to guide, coach, and mentor team members are considered assets.
  • Success in this position requires effective communication skills including writing Council reports and presenting to committees and Council and ability to work in a fast-paced, customer focused, team-oriented and politically sensitive environment, along with a highly developed problem-solving, negotiation, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

  • Compensation: Level P3 $104,938 - 131,172 per annum
  • Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
  • Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
