Description:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, and the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are seeking a full-time Gynecologic Oncologist. The successful candidate will have an academic position description as a Clinician Investigator, Clinician Educator, or Clinician Quality Improvement and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2027, or another mutually agreeable date.
The University of Toronto Division of Gynecologic Oncology provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to patients with gynecologic malignancies and is committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, clinical trials, and research. The Division includes more than 20 Gynecologic Oncologists across four affiliated cancer centres, serving a metropolitan population of more than 6.5 million people.
The successful candidate will join an established team of six Gynecologic Oncologists based at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a fully affiliated teaching hospital of the University of Toronto and home to the Odette Cancer Centre and Sunnybrook Research Institute.
As a member of an accomplished interprofessional team, the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to collegial and collaborative practice, with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care in a multidisciplinary environment. We are seeking a candidate with an excellent track record of academic productivity and peer-reviewed publications who will continue to contribute to a strong and sustained research program. The successful candidate will also demonstrate advanced surgical skills, including expertise in open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) surgery.
Enthusiastic participation in all levels of our teaching and education mandate, including undergraduate, residency, and fellowship education, is expected. The successful candidate will promote and demonstrate excellence in professional practice and conduct.
Candidates must be licensed, or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Qualified applicants must be certified, or eligible for certification, in the subspecialty of Gynecologic Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or have completed equivalent regulated subspecialty training in Gynecologic Oncology, in addition to an MD degree.
This position is funded through the provincial Alternate Payment Plan in Gynecologic Oncology. Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be composed of fee for service, an alternative funding plan and academic salary as per GOGO provincial agreement. The salary range of this position exceeds $200,000 CAD per annum.
