Stavtar's first Chief Technology Officer: a senior leadership (not hands-on-keyboard) role owning the entire engineering organization, including product engineering, platform and infrastructure, security, and reliability, for a fintech platform that moves money for institutional financial clients. Reports directly to the Co-Founder and acts as a thought partner to the founding team on product strategy, commercial commitments, and company direction. Mandate: take a roughly 100-person engineering team through the scaling transition (build the management layer, install the hiring engine, raise the operational bar, give the founders leverage) while sustaining shipping cadence, and lead AI transformation across both the product (intelligent document and invoice processing, spend intelligence, agentic workflows) and the engineering organization (AI-assisted development as a durable productivity advantage). Remote-friendly within the U.S. with travel for leadership and client engagement as needed. Confidential search.

Must Have Skills:
Proven track record scaling an engineering organization through the messy middle, growing a strained, fast-moving team into a structured org (single most important qualification). Full engineering breadth across application/product engineering, infrastructure, security, and reliability, not one layer only. Led an AI transformation of both product and organization with shipped, client-adopted AI capabilities and changed how a team builds software with AI. Personally built hiring pipelines and an employer/talent brand. Leadership through others: develops managers, delegates real ownership, retains senior talent, holds a high bar without re-inserting as lead engineer. Technical credibility senior engineers trust despite not writing production code. Business fluency across pricing, client commitments, and partnerships.

Nice to Have Skills:
Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services infrastructure. Experience serving institutional or capital-markets clients such as hedge funds, private equity firms, and family offices. Familiarity with the stack: C#, Python, Angular, Azure SQL, Microsoft Azure, and Azure DevOps. Security posture and compliance readiness for regulated, money-moving platforms.
