Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As the Director, Security AI/ML Products (Global Security), you will own the strategic vision, design, and delivery of RBC's enterprise-grade AI and Machine Learning products. You will help lead a new team to build products that detect and prevent internal and external threats to RBC. As the bridge between business stakeholders and your technical engineering organization, you will translate complex security challenges into scalable, production-ready AI solutions while driving innovation in generative AI adoption across the enterprise.

What will you do?

  • Own the strategic vision, roadmap, and delivery of the threat monitoring platform, defining how solutions will scale across RBC and meet regulatory deadlines
  • Lead end-to-end product design, requirements, and delivery from prototyping to production, directing cross-functional teams and direct reports
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement while maintaining focus on regulatory timelines
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand security challenges, translate needs into actionable AI/ML strategies, and guide them through solution design and adoption
  • Architect and recommend technical approaches for threat detection solutions, evaluating agentic AI patterns and advanced frameworks based on complexity and requirements
  • Engage and influence senior executives to simplify complex AI concepts, build alignment on capabilities, and communicate strategic priorities and regulatory compliance objectives
  • Champion the adoption of generative AI technologies and intelligent automation across the platform, experimenting with advanced techniques while ensuring ethical AI practices and security compliance
  • Monitor product performance and team execution against regulatory deadlines, respond to feedback, and drive continuous improvement

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5+ years of experience owning and delivering AI/ML products end-to-end in complex, regulated environments, with demonstrated expertise leading AI products leveraging advanced models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and agentic orchestration frameworks
  • Deep understanding of security frameworks, threat detection, and digital defense strategies, with ability to apply emerging AI technologies—such as generative AI and intelligent automation—to enhance security capabilities and drive innovation in threat monitoring solutions
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, with 5+ years of hands-on experience with data science solutions, data architectures, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus), embedding models, RAG pipelines, and API development using FastAPI
  • Track record of simplifying complex AI and ML concepts for non-technical audiences and influence senior leaders across business and technology functions to drive AI adoption and align strategy with enterprise security objectives
  • Expertise engaging with diverse stakeholders to architect and guide them through AI solution design involving RAG, vector search, and agentic AI patterns when requirements are evolving or not fully defined
  • Experience moving AI/ML prototypes to production in regulated environments, with specific expertise deploying RAG-based systems, agentic workflows using orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph, and building scalable AI APIs with FastAPI, including model governance and performance monitoring
  • Capability to build and lead agile development teams, including direct reports and collaborating across data science, AI engineering, QA, and security functions while maintaining rigorous standards for security, compliance, ethical AI deployment, and regulatory deadline management

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with model development and advanced AI techniques including LLMs, agentic AI, and generative AI systems
  • Familiarity with AI-driven security applications such as threat detection, anomaly detection, and identity analytics
  • End-to-end AI/ML operations and infrastructure experience in regulated, enterprise environments

What's in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • Flexible work/life balance options
  • Opportunities to do challenging work
  • Opportunities to take on progressively greater accountabilities
  • Access to a variety of job opportunities across business
