Job Description:
Role overview:The Finance Manager will support TD Securities technology finance portfolios by managing a large financial portfolio with responsibilities including financial planning, forecasting, and reporting. The role requires handling complex financial data, managing vendor and personnel costs, and providing insightful analyses for senior executives. This is a challenging, fast-paced role offering broad and deep financial management experience with opportunities to work closely with a skilled team and senior leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning, Reporting, and ForecastingLead the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and forecasts.
Manage a large portfolio across multiple jurisdictions.
Drive change and build strong partnerships through value-added project analytics.
Foster a positive work environment promoting productivity, innovation, and teamwork
Allocate expenses across regions and business lines.
Manage foreign exchange impacts on forecasts.
Consolidate data from various general ledger sources and provide regional insights.
Present summarized financial drivers and narratives to senior executives including AVPs, VPs, SVPs, and CIOs
Respond to funding and allocation inquiries with business insights.
Prepare regional reports for auditors and regulatory bodies promptly.
Maintain data accuracy and update cost center or structural changes.
Interpret data at a macro level to support the TDS business line comprehensively
Review business cases and integrate financial impacts into forecasts and plans.
Identify ongoing costs and manage resource spending effectively
Use tools like Power BI and Power Query to automate financial processes.
Introducing innovative ideas and business practices to improve efficiency
Engage in continuous training and process improvements.
Stay current with the latest financial practices and tools
Undergraduate degree
Business or accounting designation preferred or in progress (MBA, CFA, CMA, CGA, CA).
At least 6 years in finance roles, including 3 years in finance management.
Strong business acumen with analytical skills to synthesize inputs into clear analyses for business decisions.
Organizational awareness balancing finance and business unit perspectives.
Proven ability to lead and manage change.
Excellent relationship management and advisory skills to support business partners.
Ability to influence and motivate across organizational boundaries.
Negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Capability to prioritize multiple competing tasks in deadline-driven environments.
Experience managing large financial portfolios with expertise in planning, reporting, and forecasting.
Proficiency in Power BI, Power Query, Clarity, and Hyperion.
Skilled in managing multiple jurisdictions and consolidating general ledgers.
Strong communication and storytelling skills for executive presentations
Experience with automation and process improvement
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines
Quick learner adaptable to changing business needs
Strong multitasking and prioritization
Coachable with the ability to manage upwards and downwards.
High integrity and attention to detail
Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
