What You'll Do:- Act as the lead Human Resources position at the Redwater Nitrogen facility and serve as a member of the Redwater site leadership team.
- Provide HR guidance to the Redwater Leadership Team and contribute the people perspective to support the successful execution of the site business strategy.
- Serve as an unbiased consultant to the business to mitigate risk by ensuring fair treatment and a balanced approach during new policy and procedure implementation, organizational change, problem resolution, and human capital decisions.
- Oversee and assist in the implementation of company and business unit HR strategies, programs, and processes (e.g., salary administration, annual compensation cycle, benefits, performance management, talent retention and attraction).
- Provide support and training to managers in the interpretation and use of HR policies, processes, and programs.
- Administer the disability management process while partnering with business leaders and the third‑party administrator.
- Analyze results of exit interviews, recruitment feedback, and employee surveys to identify people issues and trends and participate in their resolution.
- Support the identification of client learning and development needs by partnering with the business and the appropriate COE to develop and implement plans and programs within client groups.
- Provide guidance and coaching to leaders in managing sensitive, complex, and legal employee relations matters.
- Consult on business effectiveness projects, including structural reorganizations and business process improvements.
- Work with leaders to anticipate future human capital requirements based on business, industry, and market conditions.
- Utilizing change management philosophy, work with client group leaders to design future‑state changes (people, process, and structure), prepare change plans, and engage with leaders to implement.
- Onboard new employees and foster a positive ongoing workplace experience for employees at Redwater.
- Work with the Centers of Excellence (HR Operations, Total Rewards, Internal Legal Counsel, Learning & Development, Talent Attraction & Sourcing) to ensure completeness and accuracy of employment documentation and to implement HR strategies, programs, and processes.
- Complete HR transactional tasks including employee letters, requisitions, communications/notices, and general transactions.
- Support emergency incident management on site from the people perspective.
- Degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
- Minimum of 8 years HR generalist work experience with proven career growth path.
- Knowledge of Alberta employment legislation and regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Ability to coach and guide Site Leadership.
- Ability to develop, implement, and manage change effectively.
- Awareness of manufacturing industry practices and cycles.
- Experience in a fast-paced growth environment, providing strategic direction from a human resources standpoint.
- Strong ability to develop collaborative relationships across multiple functions.
- Ability to balance the requirements of the Corporate HR department and site needs.
- Strong, clear, and concise verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees within the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven ability to work in a matrix environment to reduce business information silos and increase cooperation and communication across functions.
- Strong mentoring and coaching experience with business clients and peers at diverse levels of expertise.
