Job Description
What is the opportunity?
You will join the Consumer Portfolio Monitoring & Analytics team to evaluate personal credit risk portfolio health. Reporting to the Director of CPMA, you will develop deep-dive analyses and identify trends to provide strategic insights on consumer credit health. You'll elevate insight quality by connecting analyses with Credit Strategy teams, competitive intelligence, and macro trends. You will combine technical expertise with business acumen to deliver strategic storytelling on client behavior, credit performance, and Stage 3 PCL trends. You'll leverage strong analytical skills, an agile mindset, and creative problem-solving abilities while aligning with RBC's risk appetite and economic conditions.
What will you do?
- Lead deep-dive analytics and provide early warning indicators to facilitate recommendations for areas of concern to highlight to executives.
- Ensure timely development and maintenance of dashboards to support reports to stakeholders and increase self-serve.
- Interact with senior GRM leaders and GRM partners to ensure understanding of business needs and strategy, and implications of analytical work and recommendations.
- Deliver timely and accurate end-to-end analysis independently, including hypothesis generation, initial analysis plan, creation of data frame, data cleansing, standardization and validation, insights generation and final story-telling.
- Lead preparation of Executive level presentations for PMCS, GRM and Sr. Management and Investor Relations to provide early views of emerging credit risks.
- Invest, learn, and leverage new technology to increase the quality of insights and speed of generation.
- Stay on top of market trends and new developing approaches in Risk Management to recommend and enhance existing status quo
- Support PM&CS initiatives, analytics, and ad hoc requests as required.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance or other quantitative field of study; Master's degree in quantitative discipline preferred
- Proficient technical knowledge with very large relational databases and with tools such as SQL, SAS and Python
- Sound business acumen, creative thinking and strong analytical, communication and presentation skills to solve complex problems and articulate insights
- Demonstrated ability to work well collaboratively in a cross-functional environment as well as independently with strong sense of ownership of initiatives
- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure, with strong time-management skills
Nice-to-have
- Experience in credit risk analytics and understanding S3 PCL construct
- Knowledge of Teradata
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Knowledge of Agentic AI and use of LLP and AI-powered assistants such as Co-pilot to increase work efficiency
