Salary: OOS Pay Band 6 salary range plus compression as per Terms and Conditions. Note: this job is being further evaluated and the pay band is still to be determined.

The Clinical Manager, Nurse Practitioner Services provides provincial strategic, operational, professional practice, and human resource leadership for Nurse Practitioners within the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. The role is accountable for workforce planning, recruitment, orientation, scheduling, performance management, succession planning, professional practice standards, service quality, and operational effectiveness.

Maintaining current expertise in advanced nursing practice, the Clinical Manager provides professional practice leadership, mentorship, consultation, and oversight, and leads the development and implementation of policies, protocols, guidelines, and standard work supporting Nurse Practitioner practice. In collaboration with Medical Advisors, the Manager supports the competency assessment process and is responsible for communicating assessment outcomes and implementing corrective action plans, where required.

Working collaboratively with the Director, Systemic Therapy & Outpatient Services & Chief Nursing Officer, medical and operational leaders, and interdisciplinary teams, the Clinical Manager supports high-quality, evidence-informed, patient- and family-centred oncology care across the province. The role also provides leadership in advancing advanced practice nursing and serves as a key resource for organizational and provincial initiatives impacting Nurse Practitioner practice.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner or equivalent required.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Leadership, or related field considered an asset.
  • Controlled Drug and Substance Act Module (CDSA) from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or Athabasca University. Where this is not complete, the successful candidate is required to complete within one year of date of hire to the position.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner in oncology and/or hematology (malignant or benign) and/or palliative care preferred.
  • Progressive leadership, supervisory, mentoring, or program leadership experience.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Authorized practice endorsement as required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Oncology certification (CON(C)) considered an asset.

  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis peoples.
  • Strong computer and health informatics skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a complex provincial healthcare environment.
